The Zakat Committee in Birkat Al-Mouz was established in 2007. It is the oldest and first committee in the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate. It had a simple beginning in terms of the number of members, the amount of money collected, and the number of cases benefiting from and deserving of Zakat. Thanks to God and His grace, and the efforts of the sincere people of this good town, it has gained great momentum and gained the trust of the people. It now covers most of the deserving and necessary cases, with the number of its members now eleven. The number of cases it currently cares for is 88.
It is the establishment of a precise, governed committee that relies on modern digital applications to meet the needs of society and the categories eligible for zakat, gain the trust of zakat payers, and reduce errors to the minimum possible.
Accelerating the acquisition of the trust of zakat payers and maximizing the benefit for all deserving cases of all their existing categories on the ground, and moving these cases from a state of need and entitlement to a state of abundance and self-sufficiency, so that they become self-sufficient and even productive and effective.
The committee's mission was achieved through the following objectives: - Appointing the best individuals in the community to serve the committee and expanding participation to ensure accuracy and trust. - Governance by linking the committee to the laws and directives of the relevant government oversight bodies. - Incorporating modern technology into zakat collection and disbursement.
