The Zakat and Charity Committee of Nizwa, established by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in 2016, was chosen for its social responsibility in managing Zakat, charity, expiations, and Zakat al-Fitr. It has its own resources and provides cash and in-kind assistance to needy families in the Wilayat of Nizwa. Within this framework, the committee receives Zakat funds and then distributes them to those in need, in accordance with established annual programs and plans. The committee's management meets regularly to review applications, assess needs, and determine eligibility.
